Books and bookstores, you can’t love one without the other! Tbe American Booksellers Association has designated the last Saturday in April as Independent Bookstore Day. Of course, I always joke about how I would embrace any excuse to buy books, but in all seriousness, we need to be supporting independent bookstores more.
Don’t get me wrong, we need to support all kinds of bookstores. Whether brick-and-mortar or virtual or a combination thereof, bookstores of all shapes and sizes are slowly attriting away, and that is not a good thing. And we know, that whatever te store type may be, independent or a chain store, people who work there are fellow book lovers themselves.
All said, independent bookstores give you that lovely niche, a place to hang out, meet old friends and make ones anew, and get lost in fairy tale worlds, or dwell in the seriousness of nonfiction! This being my birthday weekend, pretty much every year I am buying books, and it wont be an exception this time either. I will trek over to the independent bookstores in my hometown and 7 in my nearby town and take a peek at both the old and new ones they have on sale!
A Nifty Tool
Having difficulties deciding where to go? There is a tool for that! Linked below is the Indie Bookstore that will find you a local bookstore as close to you as possible:

So, I hope you will make your own biblio-adventure possible today, and every day, shopping and letting those words weave their magic and bring new wonder and joy to your life, as they have done to mine!
Hearty Congratulations as well as Best Wishes to all Independent Bookstore owners!
